On March 22nd, the founding ceremony of Guizhou University Alumni Tennis Association was held at College of Music. Alumni representatives from across the country, university leaders, and distinguished guests gathered to mark this momentous occasion.

The event commenced with a report delivered by Han Junzheng, a representative of the preparatory team. In his report, Han elaborated on the background for establishing the association. Subsequently, the official approval for the association and theroster of the inaugural council memberswere announced. Han Junzheng and other council members were presented with letters of appointment.



Zhang Ding, Chairman of Guizhou Tennis Association, emphasized that the establishment of GZU Alumni Tennis Association marks a crucial milestone in the development of sports culture, both for Guizhou University and Guizhou Province. He also noted that the association will serve as a platform for alumni not only to reestablish connections with one another but also to contribute to their alma mater.

Zhang Dalin, Vice President of GZU, highlighted that tennis is more than a sport—it is a bond linking the university and its alumni. He stated that GZU will leverage the association as a bridge to support alumni in their careers and enhance the university’s development.

Li Min, former Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Guizhou Provincial People’s Congress and Honorary Chairman of Guizhou Tennis Association, remarked, “A strong sports culture signifies a strong China, and a thriving nation fosters a thriving sports sector.” He hoped that the universities in the province would ignite a wave of enthusiasm for tennis and spread the spirit of sports to every corner of Guizhou.

After the ceremony, the inaugural “Polar Bear Cup” GZU Alumni Tennis Tournament was held on the university's East Campus, further enhancing the camaraderie among the participants.
