To facilitate the comprehensive implementation of the national strategy for opening up education and to advance the robust and systematic internationalization of Guizhou University, Wang Jinrong, Vice President of GZU convened a series of research and coordination meetings on March 20th, 25th, and 28th, dedicated to fostering the development of internationalization initiatives.


Wang Jinrong reviewed the challenges hindering internationalization efforts within affiliated colleges and outlined future strategic initiatives. He commended the progress made in overseas study programs in 2024 while acknowledging the increased complexity anticipated for 2025. Wang emphasized the necessity of collaborative partnerships between relevant departments and colleges to systematically advance the university’s internationalization strategy and increase undergraduate participation in overseas study experiences.
Wang Jinrong underscored internationalization as a key strategic imperative for the university. He urged all departments and colleges to enhance collaboration and resource integration in support of this goal. The university will prioritize resource allocation and incentivize departments and disciplines demonstrating substantive progress in internationalization initiatives. Regarding concerns raised by the colleges, including scholarship funding, international platforms, and resource accessibility, the university will convene relevant departments to explore viable solutions.
The meetings saw participation from key personnel representing a broad spectrum of functional departments and academic units. Attendees included representatives from administrative organizations such as Office ofInternational Relations, Office of Educational Administration, Office of Financial Affairs, Center for Career Guidance, and Planning and Development Department. Furthermore, designated individuals from College of International Education and numerous other colleges, encompassing disciplines from computer science and mathematics to fine arts and medicine, engaged in the discussions.
